Wow, red bananas sound so cool! From what I was reading, a lot of banana varieties are just not easy to export. They either ripen too quickly after being picked, are easily bruised during shipment, etc. So local regions can enjoy the different banana varieties, it wouldn't be easy for the export industry to use these bananas.
